From August 1st to 31st, we’re inviting you to share your exchange adventures with us on Instagram - and in return, you could be in with a chance to win a great prize.
Simply create a post (photo, Reel, or carousel), tag us, and send us a collaboration request. Each week, we’ll select 2 collaboration requests to be featured on our HomeExchange Instagram account. The lucky winners will each receive 100 GuestPoints!
At the end of the challenge — which ends on August 31 — the 3 posts with the most likes will win a special bonus surprise from HomeExchange.
Important: you'll need your account to be 'public' to collaborate with us, as we won't be able to collaborate with anyone whose account is private.

Why are we doing this?
Because we want to show the world just how amazing our travel-loving community is! Instagram perfectly sums up the fun world of home exchanging, so we want to showcase our members’ real stories.
We also know that many of our members have exchanges planned for July and August, so get your phone ready to start taking some pictures and footage, then create a post either before, during or after your exchange. And if you haven’t got an exchange planned in July or August, then feel free to create something else! This could be a lookback on a former exchange, an insight into your welcome gifts or even your top tips for finding the perfect exchange. The only limit to this competition is your imagination!
Collaborate with us!
How to take part – quick and easy!
- Make sure your account is set to 'public' so we can see your content.
- Share a photo, carousel, or Reel showing your experience – it could be a favorite view, a cozy corner, a moment with your guests, or a fun day out. Please note that stories aren’t eligible for this competition.
- Your post or Reel could highlight your favorite memory, what you appreciate most about home exchanging, an anecdote, a funny story about an exchange… or whatever makes you happy!
- Don’t forget to keep it simple - good lighting is important, and the less editing you do, the better.
- Write a caption explaining what you love about HomeExchange, and telling the story of what’s included in your post.
- Make sure you include the hashtag #homeexchangechallenge.
- Add the HomeExchange Instagram account that you’d like to collaborate with.
- If your post is chosen as an official collaborator, it will now appear on our official Instagram account!
- Each account chosen to collaborate with us will receive 100 GuestPoints in total, regardless of how many posts they have shared.
- At the end of the challenge, which ends on August 31, the 3 collaborative posts with the most likes will receive exclusive bonus surprises from HomeExchange.

- Upload your photo, carousel or Reel.
- Click on ‘Tag people’.
- Now tap your photo or reel to tag us.
- Select the relevant Instagram account that you would like to collaborate with:

Other ideas that you could explore
- Create a carousel of your favorite exchange. Use the caption to describe your top highlights. Please don’t forget that stories aren’t eligible for this challenge.
- Prepping your home in anticipation of your guests? Then share a post on the steps you’re taking to make your guests feel welcome.
- Has something unexpected made your vacation even more special? Whether you’ve fallen in love with your host’s cat, or the sunset over the garden has left you speechless, transfer those feel-good vibes into a post.
- Has a guest to your home left you a little gift or a note that’s reminded you just how wonderful our community is? We’d love to see it.
- Those unexpected moments that were caught on camera - like being photobombed by an animal or catching your kids getting up to mischief - make fantastic posts!
- Have you got a brilliant HomeExchange memory that you’d like to share? A simple video of you retelling your short story could make the perfect content.
- Not going on an exchange this summer, but dreaming of your previous home swaps? Share your highlights with a carousel.
Terms and conditions
- Your profile must be public.
- If you post a Reel, the music must be copyright-free.
- Avoid photos with alcohol or any inappropriate content (nudity, offensive language, insults, defamation, etc.).
- You can only be selected once, but you can participate with multiple collaboration requests.
- Only tag one of our Instagram accounts (tagging multiple HomeExchange Instagram accounts will not increase your chances).
- Twice a week, two posts will be selected to appear as collaborative posts on our Instagram account. These winners will be contacted via private message so we can transfer them 100 GuestPoints.
- GuestPoints will be added regularly by the HomeExchange team throughout the challenge. If your post has been selected and you haven’t received your GuestPoints by September 5, 2025, please contact us at bonjour@homeexchange.com. Until then, please be patient — some of our team members might be on vacation! You can check your GuestPoints details here.
- At the end of the challenge, which ends on August 31, 2025, the 3 people whose collaborative posts received the most likes will be contacted during the first week of September to let them know they’ve won a special bonus surprise. Your HomeExchange gifts will then be delivered as soon as possible.
- We will not accept collaboration requests from anyone promoting their referral code in their post. You may include your home listing ID in your post, but referral codes may only appear in your bio link.
- If your video or photos show the inside of another member’s home, you must get their permission before posting.
- Please note: stories are not eligible for this challenge — only Reels and feed posts (photos, videos) will be considered.
